SZTU delegation attends the Siemens Greater Bay Area Forum

On September 12, 2019, the Siemens Greater Bay Area Forum was held in Guangzhou. People from all walks of life made their voice heard during discussions on various topics, such as digital enterprises, industrial cloud and internet technologies.

 

Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU), Prof. Holger Haldenwang, dean of Business School, Prof. Franz Raps, dean of College of Urban Transportation and Logistics, Prof. Lue Qitao, dean of Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing, and Ms. Zeng Siyu, head of the International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office, were invited to participate in the Forum.

In his speech, Prof. Ruan underscored the important roles that universities, enterprises, scientific and research institutions play in the development of the Greater Bay Area. He mentioned that the sustainable and long-term development of the Greater Bay Area lies in the higher education development, which requires contributions from both comprehensive universities and universities of applied sciences. To meet the needs of the local industries, SZTU was born with a mission to nurture practical talents and contribute to the Greater Bay Area development. Prof. Haldenwang, Prof. Raps and Prof. Lue also made wonderful speeches during the Forum.

Mr. Li Jinjun, Director of the Exchange and Cooperation Division (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office), Department of Education of Guangdong Province, showed his full support for SZTU in international cooperation.

Lothar Herrmann, President and CEO of Siemens Greater China mentioned the bond built between SZTU and Siemens on nurturing talents in intelligent manufacturing. The MOU signed on June 19, 2019, paved the way for further cooperation with SZTU, contributing to building SZTU into a world-class and innovative international university.
