CityU Macau delegation pays second visit to SZTU

On November 4, a delegation from City University of Macau (CityU Macau) led by Chan Meng Kam, chairman of the Council of CityU Macau, and Prof. Liu Jun, rector of CityU Macau, visited Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU). Prof. Zhang Jihong, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU, and Prof. Liang Yongsheng, vice president of SZTU, had a meeting with the delegation.

Prof. Zhang Jihong welcomed the delegation and introduced the development and positioning of SZTU. He said that since SZTU’s establishment was officially approved, the university has entered the fast lane of development with the strong support from the governments at all levels. Depending on the strong industrial foundation in Shenzhen and benchmarking against top universities of applied sciences in Germany and Switzerland, SZTU keeps adhering to the fundamental task of talent cultivation and achieving satisfactory results in student enrollment. It is striving to make steady progress towards the goal of building China’s first-class university of applied sciences.

Prof. Zhang Jihong also spoke highly of CityU Macau because of its broad global vision and sound foundation for international exchanges and cooperation. He hoped that both universities will strengthen mutual cooperation in internationalization and complementary resource sharing. SZTU can help with the social practice of students from CityU Macau, and CityU Macau can provide students from SZTU with convenient access to postgraduate enrollment.

Chan Meng Kam and Prof. Liu Jun introduced the basic information of CityU Macau respectively, saying that the two universities are highly complementary and have broad prospects for cooperation.

At the meeting, the two parties had an in-depth discussion on student internships, specialty construction, postgraduate training, teacher exchanges and international cooperation. Both sides believe that there is much room for developing mutual exchanges and cooperation, and are confident in jointly creating a model for university cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
