Shenzhen’s fight against Covid this year has been a tough one because of the Omicron BA.2 subvariant. In order to curb the COVID rebound as soon as possible, Shenzhen has completed three rounds of citywide mass COVID testing. Although the city has stepped up its anti-epidemic control measures, which have more or less caused inconvenience for every one of us, we still have faith in the city’s Covid prevention and control policy since Shenzhen recovered quickly from each wave of the previous Covid epidemic and it has proved to be conducive to preventing the pandemic from inflicting long-term damage on the city. Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) has strictly followed the policy and maintained stable and smooth life for those both on and off campus.
SZTU has been under lockdown since the spring semester and free daily nucleic acid test is provided for those who stay on campus including students, teachers and staff members. Canteen, gymnasium and other facilities are well maintained and cleaned.
Students are fully occupied with their schoolwork, workout, and various extracurricular activities. Su Jiabao, a student staying at SZTU said it is a good time to gain independence of mind and self-discipline. Another student Mu Shan felt fascinated to enjoy the gym since there are fewer students at school. Busy and fun are also keywords of the on-campus life for Fan Mengjia who has stayed at school since the end of last semester. Students celebrated the Chinese New Year, made dumplings at the canteen, took physical exercise … Check out more of students’ exciting life on campus from the following pictures.

Although it might be tough this spring, we believe that we can overcome the latest flare-up with the number of local Covid cases dwindling to single digits. We are confident in the anti-epidemic measures as the city has achieved the “dynamic zero infection”.
We are looking forward to seeing you again in this lovely springtime. [Photo provided to Party Affairs Committee Publicity Office]

No matter where you are, we sincerely wish you all to stay strong, safe and healthy. The flowers are blooming during the spring and we are able to resume our normal lives soon. Look forward to seeing each other again at SZTU!
