SZTU holds auto culture festival

From May 8 to May 12, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) held the third Auto Culture Festival and Practical Teaching Exhibition of Vehicle Engineering and Automotive Service Engineering Programs.

The opening ceremony of the festival was held at the College of Urban Transportation and Logistics, attended by Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU; Franz Raps, dean of College of Urban Transportation and Logistics; Wu Yaling, secretary-general of Pingshan District Association for Science and Technology; Liao Shaoping, president of Shenzhen Automobile Repair Association; Ma Li, deputy secretary-general of the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Design Competition Secretariat of National Undergraduate Engineering Practice and Innovation Ability Competition; and Wang Wenwei, executive dean of Shenzhen Automotive Research Institute, Beijing Institute of Technology.

At the opening ceremony, on behalf of SZTU, Prof. Franz Raps signed university-enterprise cooperation agreements on building internship bases with Valeo Interior Controls (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., Li Auto Inc., Shenzhen Busbar SCI-Tech Development Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Tritek Limited respectively.

Many well-known car companies participated in this festival, providing test-drive services, demonstrating unmanned driving and showcasing unmanned cleaning technologies.

Apollo Go, the autonomous driving service platform launched by Baidu, has opened nearly 200 stations in Pingshan District, including locations near SZTU, which offers more travel choices to SZTUers.

 

Besides, students from many primary and secondary schools and kindergartens were invited to take study tours at the Auto Culture Festival.

Students from Shenzhen Pingshan Foreign Language Wenyuan School and East Campus of Shenzhen Senior High School experience innovative scientific achievements of automobile technology, and learn about smart cars and the culture and technology of automobiles. As the last event of this festival, the racing teams from many universities, including Guangdong University of Technology, Shenzhen Polytechnic, South China Agricultural University, South China University of Technology, and Guangzhou City University of Technology, gathered at SZTU Racing Car Studio for visiting and mutual sharing and gave racing car shows on May 12.

Wang Qiang, member of the Standing Committee and director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Zhang Jihong, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU, and Liang Yongsheng, vice president of SZTU, watched the racing car shows.
