Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) established their partnership on December 13, 2023, marking a milestone in Trans-Pacific academic collaboration. Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, and Prof. Mary Holz-Clause, chancellor of UMC were present.

President Ruan highlighted SZTU’s academic strengths, expressing a keen desire to leverage this pact to deepen academic exchanges, expand student opportunities, and foster collaborative research between institutions’ faculties. Chancellor Holz-Clause commended SZTU’s global strides and underscored the appealing campus environments and modern facilities. She also acknowledged UMC’s faculty for their steadfast dedication to tailored teaching approaches within smaller class settings, striving to unlock every student’s maximum capabilities.

The agreement aims to deepen academic exchanges, empower student experiences, and foster collaborative research. Ms. Zeng Siyu, director of International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office at SZTU, affirmed SZTU’s global education commitment. Anticipating a deepened academic engagement with UMC, Zeng envisioned an augmented exchange platform fostering cultural understanding and academic synergy between the two universities.
