On September 9, a 19-member delegation from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW)—three professors and 16 postgraduate students drawn from six countries—arrived at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU), unfolding a technological and cultural exchange designed to energize bilateral collaboration and China-Switzerland innovation ties.

Zeng Siyu, director of SZTU’s International Cooperation and Exchanges Department, greeted the visitors on campus, while Prof. Stephan Jüngling, speaking for FHNW, thanked SZTU for its warm hospitality and praised the university’s integration of industry and research.
Guided by staff and student representatives from SZTU’s College of New Materials & New Energies, School of Design and Innovation, and College of Health Science & Environmental Engineering, the Swiss guests toured the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Applied Technologies of Super-Diamond and Functional Crystals, the Innovation Workshop, the Center for Micro/Nano Manufacturing Technology of Materials, the SDI Exhibition Hall, the Art and Technology Laboratory, the Future Operation Room and the Radiology Room. Specifically, Dean Han Peigang from College of New Materials & New Energies showcased how diamond films are revolutionizing precision machining, optics and semiconductors, while the Future Operation Room demonstrated remote surgery, surgical robots and next-generation imaging—highlighting SZTU’s strength in health-tech innovation.

The program then moved to the production line of enterprises in Shenzhen. At KK-Mold and KK-Tech, two high-tech companies in Pingshan District, Chairman Huang Zhiqiang led tours of intelligent factories and precision-manufacturing floors, sparking discussion on new-energy-vehicle components and smart-manufacturing transformation. A round-table on talent training and university-industry cooperation followed, sealing new momentum for joint education initiatives.
By forging classroom-to-factory links in one entire day, the event created a fresh channel for Sino-Swiss talent development and technological synergy. It not only provided a valuable learning experience for both universities but also laid a solid foundation for future collaborative projects. SZTU strives to expand such exchanges across Europe, turning regional campuses into global gateways for innovation and skilled graduates.
