On the afternoon of September 18, Prof. Peter Burkhalter from Bern University of Applied Sciences opened his Project Management class, which is part of the Economics of Engineering Course Series. More than 40 SZTU students actively participated in the first-day’s session.

Prof. Burkhalter has prepared detailed teaching plans and brought from Switzerland various teaching materials for students to read. USB flash disks were passed out to SZTU students attending the class to copy relevant class materials with, so that students can absorb cutting-edge knowledge regarding project management.

With the combination of theoretical concepts, practical case analysis and team project, this course will introduce the foundational techniques of Project Management to SZTU students. Specifically, students will identify project scope and write a proper project charter, systematically develop and plan the project based on the PMI methodology, manage and execute a project, assure project quality, and know about some basic tools.
