With the first batch of students graduating soon next year, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) hosted its first Autumn Graduates Campus Job Fair on November 14. The job fair provided nearly 2,400 internships and full-time positions for students, offered by 60 companies including Tencent, China Mobile Shenzhen Branch, Zhejiang Dahua Technology, Sangfor Technologies, BYD Semiconductor, and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) Shenzhen.

Most of the companies mainly value the learning ability of students as well as their teamwork, communication and stress resilience. The firms would observe these abilities through students’ GPA, grade rankings, participation in university societies and practical training. SZTU students have impressed the interviewers with their excellent academic performance and strong professional skills. Some students have a relatively complete understanding of the entire industry and the industrial chain, which made them prospective employees for some enterprises.

This job fair attracted more than 400 students. For graduating students, they can contact many companies face to face, gain interview experience and understand recruitment situation in different industries and companies in a short time. It is also a good opportunity for junior students to understand what kind of employees that companies want to hire and better prepare for their employment in the future. Matching the individual abilities and job requirements in advance, as an interviewer said, will greatly guarantee a successful interview.

To help students better prepare for their future employment, Startups and Career Service Center also invited administrators and professors to give lectures on resume writing, interview skills, employee selection standards, and job-hunting etiquette before the job fair.
