The College of Integrated Circuits and Optoelectronic Chips of SZTU was established based on the scientific and technological frontier and industrial development requirements in the fields of integrated circuit and optoelectronics. It takes the important mission of solving the key technical and basic engineering problems in material, physical principle, device design, processing technology and other links faced by optoelectronic integration today and in the future, and finally realizes the goal of optoelectronic integration. Prof. Ning Cunzheng, one of the world’s leaders in the field of nano laser and semiconductor devices, and the inventor of white light laser, is the first dean of the College of Integrated Circuits and Optoelectronic Chips.
In response to the national development strategy for integrated circuit and chip industry, the College serves the urgent needs of national and regional economic and social development by creating innovation platforms for industrial coordination and international cooperation in the fields of integrated circuit and optoelectronic chip, and conducting in-depth and effective cooperation with relevant industries in the region. It aims to solve the constraints of industrial talent shortage and technical bottleneck, and explore new ways for scientific research and personnel training in optoelectronic integration of high-level technological universities.
The College currently offers bachelor’s degrees in Microelectronic Science and Engineering, and Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated System. It has forged cooperation with many domestic and foreign enterprises such as SMIC, BYD, Empyrean and Microgate, and has launched university-enterprise cooperation projects jointly with SMIC.
