On September 6th, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) welcomed its 2018 freshmen for official registration.

The freshmen were welcomed by Professor Ruan Shuangchen and Professor Thomas Fuhrmann, and were registering for the new semester.

The university was fully prepared for this day. At Pingshan Railway Station, some of the SZTU faculties and student volunteers waited at the station early in the morning with buses ready to take the newcomers to the campus. In the meantime at the student activity center, everything was well-organized for the day’s various registration procedures ranging from enrolment registration, dormitory registration, to tuition fees payment etc. Happy faces could be spotted everywhere on campus.

Professor Ruan Shuangchen, Director of SZTU, said that Shenzhen Technology University was the third local university in Shenzhen and was an application-oriented university that had been established by Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipality with high standards. In his speech, he also stressed that SZTU would explore a new education mode of applied sciences by joining efforts between industries and universities, between production and teaching and also between practice and learning.

Professor Thomas Fuhrmann, Vice President of Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (OTH Regensburg), showed up at the student registration site and expressed his appreciation of SZTU. He also looked forward to seeing closer cooperation between the two universities in the future. Together with Professor Ruan Shuangchen, he took part in the opening ceremony of the Artisan’s Loft, SZTU’s souvenir shop, on the same day.

With all of its rich teaching resources and sound facilities such as the spacious and well-equipped canteen and student dormitory, SZTU is found to be one of the most uplifting and energetic universities by the 2018 freshmen.
