3rd Mental Health Month in SZTU successfully held

The Covid-19 pandemic not only causes visible impacts on one’s physical health but also triggers fear and anxiety that ripple an invisible impact on one’s mental health.

 

May is the mental health month for college students. A series of relevant activities of the 3rd Mental Health Month with the theme of "Accepting Yourself, Being the Pride of the Sun", organized by International Cooperation & Student Affairs Office, have been successfully held in Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU). The objective of this event is to cultivate students' positive attitude and help students better resume to the campus life. The whole event included three activities: "You Smile is So Beautiful" - photo collection activity, "You Will Be Great in the Future" - encouraging message collection activity, and "Little Happiness Counts" - story collection activity of recognizing subtle happiness in life.

Both teachers and students of SZTU took active part in the event. In total, there were 180 photos of beautiful smiles, and 159 messages and stories collected. The most exemplary works were displayed in the student dormitory area on May 25. "5.25" is a homonym in Chinese as "I love me". This event aims to remind the students to love themselves and cherish life, hoping that every smiley face and every happiness recorded could circulate unlimited warmth to them.

In order to enrich the activities of Mental Health Month, SZTU also participated in the activities with the theme of "Forge Ahead in the Name of Youth" organized by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province.
