SZTU is marching fast into the new chapter of 5G network. The 5G mobile signals provided by the three major telecom operators will fully cover the campus of SZTU by the end of August 2020. The construction of SZTU’s 5G campus informatization will be fully accelerated by then. The teachers and students of SZTU will experience the tremendous changes in their daily life brought about by the new generation of information and communication technology.
On June 11, the delegation from China Mobile Shenzhen Branch officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with SZTU on 5G campus informatization. The Laboratory of 5G Internet of Things (IoT) Communication and Industry Application was unveiled at the same time.

SZTU President Ruan Shuangchen and Vice President Xu Gang attended the meeting with General Manager of China Mobile Shenzhen Branch Zhou Zhongkun, and Deputy General Manager Zhou Songqing.

In the meeting, President Ruan Shuangchen gave an introduction to the preparation process of SZTU, school positioning, and school concept. He said that SZTU spares no efforts to develop itself as a first-class university of applied sciences which is international, high-level and exemplary. SZTU persists on setting disciplines and specialties which closely meet the industry needs, emphasizes university-enterprise cooperation and places great importance on the construction of informatized and intelligent campus. He hoped that China Mobile Shenzhen Branch and SZTU could leverage on their respective strengths to promote and strengthen industry-university-research collaboration, jointly cultivate capable talents with practical abilities, and build an informatized campus in the near future.

Mr. Zhou Zhongkun shared the same insights and expectation as President Ruan. He highlighted the importance of industry-university-research collaboration, and emphasized the profound impacts that the 5G technology would bring about on our work and life in his address.

After the signing ceremony, the delegation of China Mobile Shenzhen Branch was invited to visit the school's smart classrooms and inspected the progress of the smart campus construction of SZTU.
