Student representatives of Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) enjoyed this semester’s first afternoon tea and had a face-to-face meeting with the Secretary of the Party Committee Zhang Jihong at the Public Teaching Building on the afternoon of June 17. The meeting was also joined by Prof. Zhang Yanhong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection, Prof. Xu Gang, vice president of SZTU, and heads of several departments.

The meeting served as an opportunity for school leaders and department heads to discuss issues that students cared about, including business startups and innovation, international exchange programs, public services and facilities at the dormitory compound and other parts of the campus, etc.

Prof. Zhang Jihong valued the constructive proposals put forward by students and guaranteed them prompt actions. He also emphasized that students should protect themselves amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prof. Zhang Yanhong noted that SZTU students showed their sense of ownership by putting forward these proposals. All departments should carefully consider their suggestions and work together to solve the problems.

Prof. Xu Gang also reckoned that the campus construction plan should be improved to make students’ lives more convenient.
