On September 11, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp formally established a partnership through an online signing ceremony. Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, and Prof. Pascale De Groote, president of Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their schools. Prof. Wim Lauwers, dean of the Department of Science and Technology, and Prof. Richard Sleeckx, dean of the Department of Health and Wellbeing from Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp also attended this online signing ceremony.

As an important witness, Mr. Geoffrey Eekhout, deputy consul general of the Kingdom of Belgium in Guangzhou, delivered the opening address for the signing ceremony. He highlighted that Antwerp and Shenzhen are two vital and innovative cities, and looked forward to seeing more collaborations between the two cities.

President Ruan Shuangchen gave an introduction on SZTU, including its discipline construction and the latest progress in international exchanges and cooperation. He said that SZTU attaches great importance to the in-depth cooperation with Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp, and hoped that the two universities can work together to explore new cooperation models in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, academic research, and resources sharing to achieve a win-win situation.

Representing the Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp, President Pascale De Groote introduced the overall development of the school. She was committed to taking the intercollegiate collaboration to the next level in various fields.

In the virtual meeting, Prof. Wim Lauwers, dean of the Department of Science and Technology, and Prof. Richard Sleeckx, dean of the Department of Health and Wellbeing, both expressed keen interest in joint cultivation of quality talents with shared resources.

The other attendees from SZTU are Prof. Han Peigang, dean of College of New Materials and New Energies, Prof. Hu Junqing, dean of College of Health Science and Environmental Engineering, Prof. Xiang Shaohua, dean of College of Big Data and Internet, and Associate Prof. Zeng siyu, head of International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office. They made speeches respectively with a same aspiration, that is to deepen cooperation in all possible areas between the two universities.
