In order to ensure a smooth Orientation Day due to the ongoing pandemic prevention and control, SZTU made thorough arrangements for the registration procedures. It was mandatory to sterilize luggage, check temperature and verify health QR code for all new students and their parents coming to the campus together.

A Green Channel was also set to help needed students, providing loans for them or allowing them to delay paying tuitions. This policy has benefited over 40 freshmen.

After the registration, students checked in at their assigned dormitories and had the first meal at the canteen. Different Chinese cuisine and western-style food were available.

On Orientation Day, we can see the “Red Vests” — the student volunteers everywhere. Their presence could be felt around the campus, from registration sites to dormitory compound, and even at the airport and railway station.

The freshmen held expectations of the new life at SZTU. Many were impressed by the university philosophy, training model, advanced equipment and strong teaching team of SZTU. Some parents also expressed their confidence in SZTU’s potential and hoped that their kids can work hard in the next four years.

The Orientation Day at SZTU was shown live on different platforms including WeChat, TikTok, Sina Weibo and Bilibili. Southern Metropolis Daily, Shenzhen TV and other media also reported on the event.

After the busy day, these young freshmen will join the SZTU community, grow up along with the university and tell new stories.
