On October 10, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and Foxconn Industrial Internet (Fii) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The two parties will focus on “5G + Intelligent Manufacturing + Industrial Internet”, and carry out all-round cooperation including personnel training, scientific research, practical training, and joint establishment of industrial colleges. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, Li Junqi, chairman of Fii, and other representatives from both sides.

Chairman Li recognized the fast development of SZTU since its establishment. Currently, universities and institutes that train students with techniques needed for the industry are scarce in Shenzhen. The cooperation between Fii and SZTU can help promote education reform and cultivate interdisciplinary talents for society.

Prof. Ruan Shuangchen agreed that the cooperation will create a good platform for Shenzhen to cultivate technical talents. In the future, SZTU will tailor a more flexible training program to suit students’ personal development, and strive to build itself into a benchmark of a first-class university of applied sciences.

Under the agreement, SZTU and Fii will cooperate in multiple aspects. The two sides will jointly set up new disciplines focusing on the ultra-precision processing equipment system; cooperate in scientific research and development and commercialize the achievements; promote scientific exchanges and cooperation by carrying out international cooperation and holding forums and summits; and jointly build a practical innovation base to drive the development of “5G + intelligent manufacturing + industrial Internet”.

Before the signing ceremony, the representatives of both parties watched the introduction video of Fii and visited the exhibition hall and Foxconn Lighthouse Factory.
