On October 20, Du Xinshan, deputy director of Publicity Department of Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, was invited to deliver a lecture at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU), aiming to convey the spirit of important speeches made by President Xi Jinping. Zhang Jihong, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU; Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU; and Zhang Yanhong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection of SZTU attended the lecture with other representatives of SZTU, including deans and students of each college and department heads.

On his lecture, Du Xinshan explained in detail Xi Jinping: The Governance of China III. Consistent with the previous two volumes, Xi Jinping: The Governance of China III outlines the political ideas of China's top leadership. It contains 92 of Xi’s speeches, conversations, interviews, notes, instructions and letters between October 2017 and January 2020. “Serving the people is the principal line of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China III,” he said, adding that the Communist Party of China was born for the people and thrives because of the people.

When attending the grand event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen SEZ, President Xi Jinping stressed several times that it is necessary to effectively implement people-centered development philosophy and called for continued commitment towards it. To better implement the philosophy, governments should adhere to a people-centered approach, which is to respect people's dignity and rights, to seek happiness for the people by enhancing a sense of gain and security, and to lead the people to a better life by improving their well-being and living standards.

As the host, Zhang Jihong emphasized that it is a fairly important task of SZTU to carefully and deeply study Xi Jinping: The Governance of China III and the major speech Xi delivered in Shenzhen this month.
