On February 23, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and Landshut University of Applied Sciences formally established a partnership through an online signing ceremony. Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, and Prof. Fritz Poernbacher, president of Landshut University of Applied Sciences, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

During the signing ceremony, President Ruan recalled his first visit to Landshut University of Applied Sciences in 2016. He met President Poernbacher, the first professor to express his interest in working for SZTU, and got new ideas on how to build a university of applied sciences after the meeting. Since then, SZTU has been accelerating the cooperation with universities of applied sciences in Germany. He was glad to see that the two universities were finally able to establish cooperation through the online platform and sincerely invited President Poernbacher to visit the beautiful campus of SZTU to be completed this autumn.

President Poernbacher has been an old friend of SZTU. He visited SZTU in 2017 to participate in the International Forum and held a speech as the dean of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, Landshut University of Applied Sciences. That visit impressed him deeply. He congratulated the rapid development of SZTU and hoped to promote the internationalization of Landshut University of Applied Sciences as the new president. He firmly believed that the cooperation between the two universities will have a bright future.

Prof. Holger Haldenwang, dean of Business School, was the strong promoter of this signing ceremony. He said that Landshut University of Applied Sciences has been actively promoting cooperation with Chinese universities and President Poernbacher is also a fan of Chinese language and culture. SZTU will be its first partner in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He wished the cooperation between the two universities a complete success.

Prof. Franz Raps, dean of College of Urban Transport and Logistics, and President Poernbacher have known each other for more than 20 years. Both of them are fans of Chinese language. He has high expectation and full confidence in the future cooperation between the two sides.
Prof. Zeng Siyu, director of International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office of SZTU, hosted the signing ceremony. The other attendees are Ms. Maria Mehlhaff, director of the International Office of Landshut University of Applied Sciences, and Mr. Liu Liwen, director of Human Resources Office of SZTU. They made speeches respectively and are confident of success in the future cooperation due to the long lasting friendship between both universities.

At the end of the ceremony, President Ruan and President Poernbacher signed the MoU together, and all toasted the signing and Chinese New Year.
