Recently, the Symposium on Optical Information Technology and Ultraviolet (UV) Laser Application was held at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU). The symposium was jointly organized by the Scientific Research and University-Enterprise Cooperation Office, College of Engineering Physics, College of New Materials and New Energies and Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing of SZTU. Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, acted as the chairman of the symposium. Prof. Li Zeren and Prof. Fang Xiaodong of SZTU served as the executive chairpersons.

Prof. Ruan introduced the founding and development progress, positioning, research fields and vision of SZTU. He said that optical engineering, laser physics and optoelectronic information technology are the key disciplines that SZTU focuses on. As this symposium was held to provide an academic exchange and sharing platform for mutually beneficial cooperation among experts and scholars in related research fields, Prof. Ruan hoped that consensus on further cooperation among them could be built through the platform for the purpose of promoting the innovation and development of optical information technology and UV laser application.
