Delegation from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region visits SZTU

From May 6 to May 9, an official delegation from Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region led by Erkin Tuniyaz, chairman of the Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and deputy secretary of the CPC Xinjiang Committee, paid a visit to Guangdong Province.

As part of the inspection tour, the delegation visited Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) on May 8, accompanied by Zhang Hu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and vice governor of Guangdong Province, and Huang Min, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Shenzhen Municipality. Zhang Jihong, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU, Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, and Liang Yongsheng, vice president of SZTU, also accompanied the delegation during their visit to the university.

 

Through the campus tour, the delegation learned the details about SZTU, including its founding process, discipline construction, talent cultivation and faculty team, and fully recognized the achievements obtained by SZTU at the current stage.

In the meantime, the Baja race car made by the student members of SZTU Racing Studio attracted their attention. The delegation took a close look at the Baja race car and electric Formula race car, and highly appreciated the students’ design and manufacturing capability.

At the display area of innovation and entrepreneurship achievements by SZTU students, the delegation was impressed by some student entries for the National Undergraduate Mechanical Innovation Competition, and spoke highly of the bionic spiders, bionic scorpions and tree-planting robots.
