Recently, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Annual Meeting 2022 was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. A delegation led by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) of China attended the meeting. As part of the delegation members, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) delegated some teaching staff of the Quality and Standards Academy led by its Executive Dean Huang Manxue to the meeting.

During the conference, the delegation from SZTU successively had in-depth discussions on global development and international cooperation in standardization education with standardization institutions from more than 20 countries and several international organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Through the discussions, cooperation intentions on youth talent training, online learning platforms and curriculum development were reached, which will provide a new path for SZTU to develop standardization education with international high-level standards and its own characteristics.

To further develop its international courses with high quality, SZTU will continue to deepen cooperation with ISO and its member countries in learning from the top international concept and practice of talent training in standardization, building an international online learning platform, and developing courseware on consumer product quality and standards.

Tips:
ISO is the world’s largest and most influential comprehensive organization for standardization. The General Assembly is the ultimate authority of ISO. The 2022 annual meeting invited nearly 1,000 representatives from 167 ISO member countries as well as international and regional organizations to attend on-site, and more than 4,000 representatives attended it online.
