On May 19, a delegation from Oral Roberts University (ORU) led by Kathaleen Reid-Martinez, provost and chief academic officer, visited Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU). On behalf of SZTU and ORU respectively, Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, and Dr. Reid-Martinez signed an intercollegiate cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony is a bridge for communication and cooperation between ORU and SZTU. This cooperation adheres to the spirit of openness, inclusiveness and mutual benefit, aiming to promote the exchange of students and teachers, the cultivation of innovative talents, and the collaboration of scientific research between the two sides.

Dr. Reid-Martinez and Dr. Jenny Fang, director of International Partnerships and chief editor of Whole Leader Magazine of ORU, were warmly welcomed by Prof. Ruan, who gave a comprehensive introduction to the educational philosophy, development process, international cooperation, and university-enterprise cooperation of SZTU. He said that SZTU is a public institution of higher education established by Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipality, aiming to be an international, high standard, exemplary, and first-class university of research and technology. SZTU has introduced the advanced school-running experience of prestigious universities in Germany, Switzerland and other countries. At present, a total of 36 majors have been set up by 15 colleges or schools, covering six disciplines including Engineering, Sciences, Management, Liberal Arts, Medicine, and Arts.

Dr. Reid-Martinez was highly impressed by the campus construction and rapid development of SZTU. She stated that ORU is committed to cultivating talents with spiritual integrity, personal resilience, intellectual pursuit, global engagement and bold vision. Equipped with practical assignments, real-world projects, internships, and mentorships by experienced professors, ORU Students are prepared to be whole leaders for the whole world when they graduate. She hoped that ORU and SZTU can join hands in carrying out different kinds of student exchange programs, providing more opportunities for students to study abroad and encounter a life-changing experience that will transform the way they see the world.
