In order to provide all-round education for SZTUers and give full play to their talents, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) has held a variety of cultural, artistic and sports activities. The following major on-campus activities were rounded off at the end of 2023.

2023 SZTU Comprehensive Sports Games

From November 29 to November 30, the 2023 SZTU Comprehensive Sports Games was held on campus. The games consisted of 14 track and field events as well as football and basketball events. There were 1,020 players participating in the games this year, including 698 students and 322 faculty members.

Presided over by Prof. Ming Zhong, vice president of SZTU, the opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Zhang Jihong, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU; Prof. Zhang Yanhong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection of SZTU; Prof. Liang Yongsheng, vice president of SZTU; as well as heads of different colleges and departments. Prof. Zhang Yanhong delivered the opening speech, followed by a variety of dance and vocal performances given by students and teachers.

As a result, the student team of College of New Materials and New Energies won the first place with the highest accumulated points among all student teams. As for faculty teams, the eighth joint team achieved the first prize.

Cantonese Music Concert

On December 2, the Cantonese Music Concert of SZTU Music Season was held at the auditorium. Hosted by SZTU Youth League Committee and organized by SZTU Art Troupe, the concert consisted of 13 classic and popular Cantonese songs, inviting student representatives from Shenzhen University, youth singers and special guests to perform together with SZTUers.

SZTU Wind Band 2023 Annual Show

On December 15, the SZTU Wind Band 2023 Annual Show was unveiled. SZTU Wind Band is a student group that gives musical performances at major ceremonial occasions on campus. Organized by International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office, the annual show consisted of 16 pieces of instrumental music performed by SZTU students and teachers, such as popular suite, flute quartet, trio, and saxophone ensemble.

SZTU 2023 New Year Eve Gala

On December 29, SZTU hosted the 2023 New Year Eve Gala on campus. The gala presented 13 diversified performances given by SZTU teachers, students and guests, including instrumental ensemble, dance, vocal music, stage play, musical and magic show. The live broadcast of the gala on various online platforms achieved a total of 2.889 million accumulated views in 30 minutes after the show ended.

With such wonderful memories of 2023, SZTUers will continuously chase dreams and forge ahead in the year of 2024.
