Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) has always encouraged students to participate in various extracurricular competitions and events to enrich their campus life and achieve all-round development. This year, SZTUers have claimed multiple national awards in academic competitions and given full play to their talents in various athletic and artistic events, showcasing their academic proficiency and comprehensive abilities.
1. The 7th National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition

Recently, in the Chip Design Track and FPGA Innovation Design Track of the 7th National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition, the Chip Creation Club teams from the College of Integrated Circuits and Optoelectronic Chips of SZTU competed with 10,726 teams from 625 universities nationwide. As a result, the student teams from SZTU won a total of 19 awards, including a “Gowin Cup” award, four first prizes, six second prizes, and eight third prizes. SZTU received “Excellent Organizer” award.

Sponsored by China Education Society of Electronics, the National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition is one of the most influential contests in the field of chip application and design. The FPGA track finally selected nine “Gowin Cup” winners, 100 first prizes winners, 194 second prizes winners, and 395 third prize winners.
2. The 19th “Challenge Cup” National College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition

In the 19th “Challenge Cup” National College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition series, student projects from SZTU won five national awards, including a first-prize and a third-prize in the “Leaderboard Challenge” special competition, and three bronze awards in the “Challenge Cup” QinChuangYuan Platform National College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition. It marks the first time that SZTUers have been qualified for the national finals of the Entrepreneurship Competition.

Focusing on “bottleneck” technologies to settle significant social issues and practical problems, the “Challenge Cup” Leaderboard Challenge attracted over 27,000 participants, with more than 6,500 entries nationwide this year. The “Challenge Cup” Entrepreneurship Competition attracted 390,000 projects participated in by over 3 million students from more than 2,700 universities in over 60 countries this year.
3. The 16th National College Student Pharmacy Forum

Recently, students from the College of Pharmacy of SZTU secured a national second prize for innovative achievements and the “Excellent Paper” award in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Track of the 16th National College Student Pharmacy Forum. This forum is a top-level event in pharmaceutical education in China, attracting nearly 600 teachers and students from 124 universities nationwide, with 296 paper submissions, 286 poster presentations, and 251 innovative achievement entries.
4. International Standardization Youth Star Competition 2024

Besides, two student teams from the College of Pharmacy also excelled in the International Standardization Youth Star Competition 2024, winning third prizes in the “Traditional Chinese Medicine - Sun Simiao” Track and the “Short-Distance Communication - Huawei” Track. One of the team projects was also awarded the “Top 10 Best Projects” in the “Traditional Chinese Medicine - Sun Simiao” Track. The competition was organized under the guidance of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Central Secretariat and lasted for two months.
5. The 6th SZTU Sports Games

From December 4 to 5, the 6th SZTU Sports Games was held on campus, where 1,062 SZTU athletes, including 702 students and 360 faculty members, participated in track and field events, football and basketball team competitions.

As a result, the College of New Materials and New Energies, the College of Engineering Physics, and the College of Big Data and Internet emerged as the top three among the student teams. Among the faculty teams, the Sixth Team won the first prize, and the second prizes went to the Fifth and Ninth Teams.
6. Choir Competition for SZTU’s Anniversary Celebration

Besides, SZTU’s musical talents shone in the Choir Competition for SZTU’s Anniversary Celebration on November 19. This musical feast brought together students from the Youth League branches of 13 colleges to sing moving songs. As a result, the first-prize winning team came from the College of New Materials and New Energies, the second-prize winners were from the College of Fashion Technology and the College of Health Science and Environmental Engineering, and the third-prize winners were from the College of Pharmacy, the College of Big Data and Internet, and the School of Foreign Languages.
