Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) aims to establish itself as an international, high-level and demonstrative university of research and technology with Chinese characteristic and global outlook. With the strong support of the Ministry of Education of China and the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, SZTU has been approved to offer a new major to undergraduates recently, namely Cyberspace Security.
The new major will be offered by the College of Big Data and Internet, focusing on three main areas: data and network security, cryptography and its applications, and artificial intelligence security. It covers core fields such as data privacy protection, cryptographic algorithm design, and AI security protection, and integrates emerging technologies like cloud computing and the Internet of Things. Graduates of this major can work in key areas such as government, finance, transportation, energy, and the Internet, engaging in jobs related to data privacy protection, cryptographic algorithm design, and AI security protection.

At present, 17 colleges or schools have been established, 12 of which offer a total of 40 majors to about 14,500 undergraduate students, covering five disciplines including Engineering, Sciences, Liberal Arts, Management, and Arts. SZTU closely aligns with the industrial layout of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen’s “20+8” strategic emerging industries. The university is committed to advancing the high-quality development of the university through high-level discipline construction, making every effort to become a world-class applied technology university.
