SZTU, COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) enter strategic partnership

On January 5, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. in a ceremony held at the university. Attending and witnessing the signing were key representatives from both sides, including Chen Qiuming, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU; Liang Yongsheng, vice president of SZTU; Qian Weizhong, chairperson of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong); and Zhu Changyu, director and president of the company.

The collaboration aims to leverage SZTU's strengths in talent development and scientific research in smart manufacturing and artificial intelligence, combined with the industrial resources and platform advantages of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). The partnership will focus on three core areas: research innovation, sci-tech innovation platform development, and talent cultivation.


In research innovation, the two parties will collaborate on key projects covering product R&D, smart manufacturing, AI, marine new energy, and big data. They will establish a transformation pathway for research outcomes, enabling complementary technological and market resources. For innovation platform development, they will explore building joint laboratories and innovation centers. In talent development, mutual off-campus practice bases for students and corporate training bases will be set up to facilitate graduate employment and deepen industry-academia-research integration.


This partnership marks a new phase of all-round in-depth collaboration between SZTU and COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). With a focus on smart manufacturing, green and low-carbon development, and digital intelligence, the two sides will work together to serve national strategic needs and contribute to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, opening a new chapter in industry-education integration and collaborative innovation.
