On November 25, Prof. Bernd Markert, chair of RWTH Aachen University Foundation and director of Institute of General Mechanics, led a five-member delegation to visit Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU). Prof. Chen Qiuming, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU, and representatives from related schools and departments held a meeting with the delegation, engaging in in-depth discussions on building collaboration platforms, strengthening research cooperation, and expanding faculty–student exchanges.

Prof. Chen Qiuming welcomed the delegation and introduced SZTU's development approach as a new-model university of applied research. He noted that his earlier visit to RWTH Aachen University had provided valuable insights for SZTU's development. He emphasized SZTU's commitment to integrating academics with application, aligning with national strategies and industry needs, and nurturing innovative talents with a global vision. He also expressed hopes to further expand joint student training, faculty exchanges, collaborative research platforms, and joint applications for research projects and China Scholarship Council (CSC) programs, and warmly welcomed outstanding PhD graduates from RWTH Aachen to join SZTU's faculty team.

Prof. Markert thanked SZTU for the warm reception. He said that through the campus and laboratory tour, he was impressed by SZTU students' strong learning attitudes and practical abilities, as well as the university's advanced teaching and research facilities. He highly recognized SZTU's educational philosophy and expressed hopes to deepen cooperation in research and talent exchange.

During the visit, the delegation toured several teaching and research platforms, including the Sino-German Laboratory of Beer Brewing Process Control, the Robotics Lab, and the High-Voltage Physics and Technology Lab.
The productive discussions and campus tours laid a solid foundation for advancing practical cooperation in alignment with global challenges. This engagement marks a significant step toward long-term partnership between SZTU and RWTH Aachen in fostering innovation-driven education and research.
