Professor Peter Heck and Professor Achim Bosslet from the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld of Trier University of Applied Sciences visited Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU), accompanied by Ms. Hou Jixiang, Chairwoman of Oak Garden International Group, and her team on May 15th, 2018. Ms. Sun Xiangyu, Deputy Director of SZTU, alongside with Professor Han Peigang, Dean of the College of New Materials and New Energies, Professor Liu Shengyuan, Dean of the College of Creative Design, Professor Wang Hongzhi, the Sino-German College of Intelligent Manufacturing, and Ms. Zeng Siyu, Head of the International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office, held a fruitful meeting with them, during which the two sides established a deeper understanding of each other and confirmed their willingness to see further cooperation in the future.

Being one of the founders of the Environmental Campus and the president of the Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS), Professor Heck gave an interesting introduction on both the Environmental Campus and IfaS at the meeting. Using lively case studies, he further explained the concept of Zero Emission Campus and emphasized the necessity of circular economy and material flow management. Later on, the team from the Trier University of Applied Sciences and the Oak Garden International Group paid a visit to the teaching building, the Sino-German Laboratory of Beer Brewing Process Control, the Laboratory of Advanced Materials, and the Laboratory of Internet of Things-Laboratory of Electronic Technology, getting a more vivid idea of SZTU.
