Batyanovsky Leonid, the Consul General of Republic of Belarus in Guangzhou, and Consul Alexander Shalimov, visited Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) on June 13. Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, President of SZTU, met with the delegation. Prof. Han Peigang, Dean of the College of New Materials and New Energies, Prof. Franz Raps, Dean of the College of Urban Transportation and Logistics, Zeng Siyu, Head of the International Cooperation and Student Affairs Office, attended the meeting.

On behalf of SZTU, Prof. Ruan extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Consulate General of Belarus in Guangzhou, and appreciated their second visit to SZTU. He said that China and Belarus enjoy sound relations and extensive cooperation in the field of education and scientific research.

After visiting SZTU last year, the consul general actively introduced SZTU to universities of Belarus. SZTU delegation visited well-known universities and research institutions such as the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Belarusian State Technical University in October 2018, and consequently signed cooperation agreements with them.

The consul general was very pleased to visit SZTU again. He said that during the past year, SZTU has completed the preparation task rapidly and efficiently, well explaining the "Shenzhen Speed", which he was highly impressed by. He also mentioned that Belarus has made remarkable achievements in the field of laser technology, optical research, network information technology and software development, giving birth to famous enterprises like Wargaming. In addition, Belarus is developing rapidly in the field of new energy development, transportation, logistics, biomedicine and artificial intelligence. He suggested that SZTU should extend its cooperation with more universities and enterprises of Belarus in the above fields.

After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to the first phase of SZTU campus, especially the campus infrastructure. They then visited SZTU Souvenir Shop The Artisan’s Loft, and spoke highly of the innovation capability and creativity of SZTU students and teachers.
