On December 8, the extension of Metro Line 9 was put into operation. It is worth to mention that at the Menghai Station, a work of public art that is 11 meters long and 3.2 meters wide attracts people’s attention. The name of this art is Landscape City, created by Prof. Dai Yun from College of Creative Design.

Prof. Dai Yun’s life experience in Shenzhen and personal opinions about Shenzhen were embedded in the design. He has witnessed the ever-changing urban landscape and process of Shenzhen’s demolition, renewal and reinvention in its development. To find a way to tell the stories of Shenzhen’s rapid changes, he made good use of the discarded red bricks in the process of urbanization and arranged them in an abstract way.
