SZTU welcomes new partner enterprises

On November 27, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) joined Shenzhen Institute of Electronics in holding an event to welcome over 50 managers and senior engineers from the local enterprises for research collaboration and university-enterprise cooperation.

SZTU President Ruan Shuangchen gave a report on the origins and development of universities of applied sciences, and the missions of SZTU as the pioneers of the first university of applied sciences in China. He emphasized that SZTU featured a close connection and cooperation with enterprises and called for wider and deeper collaboration between SZTU and enterprises in all fields.

Su Jianjun, head of Department of Transfer and Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements at Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, said that in the past, enterprises serve as the backbone of scientific and technological innovations in Shenzhen, contributing to 90 percent of the scientific and technological investments and achievements. Nowadays, with the growing needs for talents with innovation and creativity, he hoped that SZTU could shoulder the mission of cultivating talents to meet the requirements of industries and enterprises.

Xia Jun, secretary general and executive vice chairman of Shenzhen Institute of Electronics, spoke highly of SZTU’s well-equipped laboratories and facilities for scientific research. He encouraged all members of Shenzhen Institute of Electronics to improve the added-value of science and technology elements for their products and strengthen their efforts on applied research.
