SZTU holds the first Shenzhen Pingshan Ph.D Conference

On December 10, SZTU held the first Shenzhen Pingshan Ph.D Conference, which attracted over 120 attendees from SZTU, leading enterprises and public service institutions at Pingshan District. The Conference was presided over by Prof. Hu Junqing, dean of College of Health Science and Environmental Engineering and president of Shenzhen Pingshan Ph.D Association.

At the beginning, Prof. Ruan addressed the Conference with a brief introduction about the missions of universities of applied sciences. He reviewed on the progress of university-enterprise cooperation, faculty development and talent cultivation. Prof. Ruan pointed out that SZTU is a university that serves the local economy and social development. Thus, SZTU will always provide strong intellectual support for the development of Pingshan District and Shenzhen city as a whole.

Xu Guodong, director of Pingshan Organization Department, said that the original inspiration for the Shenzhen Pingshan Ph.D Association was to build a “home” for all Ph.D holders, a home for mutual learning and communication. Xu hoped that all members of the Association could give full play to their potentials and contribute to the innovation development of Pingshan District.

Tips:

Founded by eight SZTU teachers, Shenzhen Pingshan Ph.D Association is a non-profit social organization that offers support and help to Ph.D holders who work and live in Pingshan District. On November 1, 2019, Shenzhen Pingshan Ph.D Association was officially unveiled on the third “Talent Day” in Shenzhen. The Association is conducive to integrating the shared resources in Pingshan District, serving the local economy and delivering better services to the local citizens.
