SZTU High Table Dinner for Freshmen 2020 successfully held

From November 24 to 25, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) High Table Dinner for Freshmen 2020 was successfully held. The banquet was attended by Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU; Prof. Xu Gang, vice president of SZTU; Prof. Liu Qingxia, fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering and distinguished professor of SZTU; Mr. Zheng Shaowei, chairman of Shenzhen Strength Group; Prof. Holger Haldenwang, dean of Business School; and Prof. Franz Raps, dean of College of Urban Transportation and Logistics. A number of heads, professors and teachers from different colleges and departments and more than 500 freshmen of SZTU gathered in the grand occasion.

As a cultural event for students’ quality development, the High Table Dinner opens the door to modern etiquette for freshmen and further enhances the exchanges between Chinese and foreign teachers and students from different colleges. Hosting the High Table Dinner embodies SZTU’s dedication to cultivating highly qualified talents with craftsman’s spirit and humane sentiments by drawing on the experience on improving students' comprehensive quality from top European universities.

Prof. Ruan Shuangchen delivered a welcome speech, stating SZTU’s commitment to achieving the goal of cultivating talents of applied sciences and expressing his expectations on the banquet. He said that SZTU has been continuously enhancing and consolidating the new model and new achievements of its cooperation with overseas institutions in running educational projects. The university spares no effort to cultivate qualified successors of socialism with all-round development. He hoped that the High Table Dinner will help build a bridge for cross-cultural communication, enrich the students’ knowledge of modern etiquette and broaden their vision through interaction and exchanges.
