The signing ceremony of the university-enterprise cooperation framework agreement between Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and iFLYTEK Co., Ltd. and the unveiling ceremony of the SZTU-IFLYTEK Collaborative Innovation Center were held at SZTU on January 4. The event was witnessed by Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU; Liu Xiaojuan, deputy general manager of iFLYTEK Higher Education Division (iFLYHED); Zhou Tao, general manager of iFLYTEK Shenzhen; Li Zhenghua, director of iFLYHED South China Division; and heads of relevant colleges and departments of SZTU.

Prof. Ruan Shuangchen highlighted the university philosophy and characteristics and reviewed what SZTU has been going through in the past few years and has achieved in personnel training. He hoped that by working together, we can innovate the talent training model using artificial intelligence and speed up building SZTU into an internationalized, advanced and exemplary university of applied sciences.

Deputy General Manager of iFLYHED Liu Xiaojuan mentioned that a series of national policies have been issued to step up the construction of high-level application-oriented universities in this new era of education informatization, which is both an opportunity and a challenge for universities and enterprises. iFLYHED will explore new paths for integrating industry and education, upholding its concept of “Technology empowers education and teaching”.

Prof. Zhong Ling, dean of School of Foreign Languages, reviewed what the two sides have achieved in smart assessment and smart teaching space, and laid out the key cooperation plans for the next step. She acknowledged the need to combine technology and education, which will better meet the needs of the times and speed up reforms in teaching methods and talent training.

Prof. Zhong Ling and Li Zhenghua signed the university-enterprise cooperation framework agreement representing the two sides. According to the agreement, the two sides will work together in the following six areas: building internship and practical training bases, construction of smart teaching system, building smart language center, building AI foreign language smart teaching space, building teaching quality monitoring center and research on industry-education cooperation.

After the signing ceremony, the SZTU-IFLYTEK Collaborative Innovation Center was unveiled. Based on this platform, SZTU and iFLYTEK will carry out all-round cooperation in related fields such as internship base construction, scientific research, cooperative school running, graduate employment, specialty and curriculum setup, and teacher training.
