Edited by:Release Time:2022/01/14

Stanford University has recently released the list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2021, which represents the top 2% of the most-cited scientists around the world. Seven scholars from Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) are ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists for single-year (2020) citation impact in 3 scientific fields and 4 sub-fields, including Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, Prof. Hu Junqing, Prof. Kong Lingbing, Prof. Julian Chan, Prof. Wang Lulu, Associate Prof. Zhao Junqing and Assistant Prof. Zhang Guangye. Meanwhile, Prof. Hu Junqing, Prof. Kong Lingbing and Prof. Julian Chan are recognized in the list for career-long citation impact.

Created by an expert group led by Prof. John P.A.Ioannidis from Stanford University, the list was based on Scopus, Elsevier’s citation database which provided standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator. By evaluating the database, the list selected the top 2% scientists from nearly 7 million scientists worldwide in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields by assessing their career-long impact and single-year impact.
