Recently, Stanford University has released the list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2022, which is created by an expert group led by Prof. John P.A.Ioannidis from the university. Seven scholars from Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) are ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists for single-year (2021) citation impact in three scientific fields and ten sub-fields, including Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, Prof. Hu Junqing, Prof. Kong Lingbing, Prof. He Zhendan, Associate Prof. Peng Xiaojiang, Assistant Prof. Zhang Guangye and Assistant Prof. Wang Aiwu. Meanwhile, Prof. Hu Junqing and Prof. Kong Lingbing are recognized in the list for career-long citation impact.
The list was based on Scopus, Elsevier’s citation database which provided standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator. By assessing their career-long impact and single-year impact through the database, the list selected the top 2% scientists from nearly 7,000,000 scientists worldwide in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. The data can be found at: https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/btchxktzyw.
