As planned in June when Tencent Security Elite Class (originally named SZTU-Tencent Security Class) was initiated, the class was officially unveiled and 40 students from College of Big Data and Internet, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) were selected and enrolled in this class this fall semester.

Tencent Security Elite Class is the first of its kind cooperating with Tencent Security Lab, a top-notch security lab worldwide. The program will offer students related courses and easier access to internships at the lab to meet the needs of the security field and train application-oriented personnel in this area. Starting from this year, it will select 30 to 40 students from College of Big Data and Internet annually.

The unveiling ceremony was joined by Prof. Liang Yongsheng, vice president of SZTU; Fu Manqing, vice president of Tencent Cloud and vice president of Tencent Education; Yao Wei, general manager of Tencent Data Security; heads of relevant departments and colleges; and students enrolled in the program.

Prof. Liang Yongsheng pointed out that SZTU sets up specialties closely connected with the regional industries. Tencent Security Elite Class emerged when the industry and the university are highly integrated and enterprises play the guiding role. He encouraged students to seize the opportunity and learn professional skills in the program.

Vice President Fu Manqing highly recognized the talent training mode of SZTU, which can equip students with practical skills and professional knowledge urgently needed in the industry. Fu emphasized that security is of paramount importance in national development, and she hoped that the students could acquire a wide knowledge of security and boost the development of the security field in the future.

Student representative Xiong Ziyi looked forward to brainstorming with classmates, learning from enterprise mentors working in the front line and applying what she has learned to enterprise projects. She expressed her ambition of defending information security with the shields of knowledge and skills.
Since its establishment, SZTU has closely cooperated with Tencent in the fields such as talent training, scientific research and informatization construction. SZTU and Tencent also jointly built cloud technology assessment laboratories and offered mini project courses. Tencent Security Elite Class is another example of in-depth cooperation between the two sides.
