SZTU signs MoU with SRH Distance Learning University

The report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that we will speed up efforts to build a contingent of personnel with expertise of strategic importance and cultivate greater numbers of master scholars, science strategists, first-class scientists and innovation teams, young scientists, outstanding engineers, master craftsmen, and highly-skilled workers.

 

On November 25, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) officially established the cooperative partnership with SRH Distance Learning University (SRH-DLU) in Germany. The two universities will work together to promote international exchanges and cooperation. On behalf of SZTU and SRH-DLU respectively, Prof. Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, and Prof. Ottmar Schneck, rector of SRH-DLU, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Prof. Ruan Shuangchen introduced the general situation of SZTU, including college establishment, specialty setup, and international exchanges and cooperation. He proposed the possibility of establishing a learning center of SRH at SZTU and hoped that the signing ceremony would be beneficial to talent cultivation. President Ruan also sincerely welcomed colleagues of SRH-DLU to visit SZTU after the pandemic.

Prof. Ottmar Schneck thought highly of the internationalization achievement of SZTU. At the same time, he introduced the basic situation of SRH-DLU. The state-recognized institution specializes in part-time online studies. As a quality leader in distance education, it has developed a study model that gives maximum flexibility and guarantees excellent service with 47 accredited Bachelor and Master programs. Currently, more than 8,500 students are enrolled at SRH-DLU, which has been rated as the most popular distance education institution in Germany four times.

Prof. Holger Haldenwang, dean of Business School of SZTU is the liaison person of both universities, contributing a lot to the cooperation. Besides, Prof. Franz Raps, dean of College of Urban Transportation and Logistics of SZTU, Prof. Stefan Müller and Dr. Simone v. Boddien from SRH-DLU, also attended the signing ceremony. Ms. Zeng Siyu, director of International Cooperation & Student Affairs Office of SZTU, hosted the signing ceremony.
