On June 21, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) held its commencement ceremony at the university’s Gymnasium, conferring degrees upon over 3,000 graduates who are now embarking on new life journeys. The event was attended by university leadership, including Prof. Chen Qiuming, secretary of the Party Committee; Prof. Zhang Yanhong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee; Prof. Liang Yongsheng, vice president; Prof. Ming Zhong, vice president; and Prof. Deng Yuanlong, vice president, along with faculty, counselors, logistics staff, graduates, and family members.

During the ceremony, Vice President Prof. Liang Yongsheng made a commencement address. He reflected on students’ transformative journey at SZTU – a university dedicated to cultivating interdisciplinary innovators for China’s smart manufacturing advancement. He urged graduates to master three essential frameworks of logic: the logic of economic growth, the logic of industrial development, and the logic of technological innovation.

Prof. Li Heyan from the College of Urban Transportation and Logistics inspired graduates to fight under the banner of SZTU, embrace discomfort, and elevate the university’s reputation.

Undergraduate representative Lu Xingyu from the College of Big Data and Internet pledged to uphold the university motto “Seek Truth, Pursue Excellence”, by leveraging SZTU’s open vision, hands-on spirit and creative mindset. Postgraduate representative Yan Teng expressed confidence rooted in SZTU’s rigorous training and innovative ethos, vowing to create new success stories.

The ceremony featured heartfelt tributes as graduates presented flowers to 13 teacher and counselor representatives and 14 logistics staff members. Outstanding graduates offered bouquets and embraces to their parents in recognition of family support.

As a special send-off, graduates received custom-designed “boarding passes” from SZTU to the Future. The gift embodies SZTU’s wish for graduates to achieve extraordinary accomplishments in their coming endeavors.

The Class of 2025 undergraduates secured 137 national and 187 provincial competition awards. Among them, 672 gained admission to prestigious institutions including Yale University and Tsinghua University, while others joined leading enterprises such as Tencent and Huawei. The postgraduate cohort of 200 students earned doctoral or master’s degrees, achieving remarkable milestones: 89 domestic and international awards, 152 published papers, 67 patent applications, and participation in 48 research projects. Approximately one-third joined industry leaders including Huawei and BYD, while others pursued PhD studies at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Sun Yat-sen University.
