The program responds to China’s national initiative to expand youth exchanges with Europe and aligns with the 20th anniversary of China-Spain comprehensive strategic partnership. At the opening ceremony, SZTU Vice President Prof. Ming Zhong highlighted, “Your arrival builds a bridge of knowledge, culture, and friendship between Chinese and Spanish youth.” Prof. Padilla expressed gratitude, noting the opportunity allows Spanish students to step beyond their environment, understand Chinese culture, and engage in transnational dialogue.

For many participants, Shenzhen’s seamless integration of technology into daily life left a lasting impression. Arnau Claret and Alex Serrano marveled at driverless cars and SZTU’s expansive campus. “The facilities—from the gym to the library—are excellent,” Serrano said. Rita Pereira, a junior student, praised the city’s balance, “The city strikes a perfect balance between technology and culture.” She is now considering returning for further study.

This exchange builds on the cooperation agreement signed in March 2024 between SZTU and Euncet Business School, marking the first academic partnership with a Spanish university. This event not only enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between the two universities, but also provided the Spanish teachers and students with a comprehensive understanding of China’s development and cultural heritage.
