On December 11, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and Shenzhen Xiaomi Information Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing and unveiling ceremony at the university, officially launching their cooperation in talent cultivation and industry-academia integration. According to the agreement, the collaboration will focus on several key areas: recommending outstanding graduates, building internship and employment bases, cooperating on teaching and industry-academia integration projects, and having corporate experts participate in university lectures. Xiaomi will leverage its strengths in software and hardware to support the construction of talent and internship bases at SZTU, providing students with practical opportunities and giving priority to hiring top graduates recommended by the university. In return, SZTU will offer intellectual support to Xiaomi in strategic positioning, innovation capability enhancement, and management diagnostics, while also providing employee training and supplying needed talent and technological resources.
A significant outcome of this partnership is the establishment of two joint bases. The "University Student Internship and Employment Base" is located at Xiaomi, while the "Xiaomi Talent Base" is set up within the SZTU Business School. The collaboration will implement a "5+3" training model, which involves five online courses on new retail for theoretical training at the university, followed by a three-week practical training period within the company.

Chen Qiuming, secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU, emphasized that the university adheres to a talent development philosophy of "integrating theory with practice, emphasizing both learning and application." He noted that the partnership with Xiaomi, an industry leader, is a crucial measure for complementary advantages and shared development, aligning with SZTU's goal of becoming a new type of research university.

Li Kangkang, deputy general manager of Xiaomi's Shenzhen Branch, stated that SZTU is the first university in Shenzhen that Xiaomi has partnered with in the new retail field. He expressed confidence that the cooperation would build a long-term bridge for communication, leveraging the university's educational resources and Xiaomi's industrial advantages for mutual success. For the practical training component, students will be placed at outstanding Xiaomi stores in Shenzhen for mentorship by certified staff.
This signing and unveiling ceremony marks a promising start for the collaboration between SZTU and Xiaomi. Both parties plan to use the joint bases as a foundation to deepen industry-academia-research cooperation, explore stable long-term collaboration models, and set an exemplary standard for cultivating high-quality, innovative talent for the new retail industry.
