To the Best Memories with New Friends!

How time flies! The 2018 SZTU International Week came to an end on November 23. SZTU brought together more than 50 new friends from afar, who came from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS), the OTH Regensburg, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences and the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. They came to SZTU with their vitality and curiosity, and the creative and colorful week made sweet memories available to them.

SZTU prepared a tailor-made schedule for these international guests, which consisted of a company visit to the headquarter of BYD, English-teaching courses with SZTU students, brainstorming for recommendations on the development of College of Business Management, High Table Dinner, Bavarian Night and International Forum.

Prof. Wolfgang Baier and Prof. Robert Grebner, Presidents of the OTH Regensburg and FHWS respectively, joined international students in a company visit to BYD. An experienced BYD staff shared with them lots of BYD’s successful cases on new energy vehicle. The introduction of environmental engineering and cultural construction projects renewed their knowledge on advanced technologies in vehicle power control and engine drive.

 

English-teaching Courses

30 international students integrated themselves into the International Week by joining English-teaching courses with SZTU students. They learned the concept and essence of Chinese painting skills and Chinese calligraphy in the Designing Interactions course. With the help of SZTU teachers and students, these international students managed to write Chinese characters.

Many experienced professors from Germany brought a variety of general education courses to SZTU, benefiting both SZTU students and international students. The Introduction to Java-Programming Language course taught by Prof. Peter Braun made it possible for students with different cultural backgrounds to have better communication by having our international friends worked as teaching assistants.


Brainstorming

Given by the success of German universities of applied sciences, students of OTH Regensburg brainstormed about suggestions and recommendations on how to manage the College of Business Management at SZTU. After several nights of heated discussions, over 200 pages of proposals were handed over to President of SZTU, Prof. Ruan Shuangchen.

 

High Table Dinner

SZTU High Table Dinner turned out to be a great experience for students to learn more about western table manners. On their way back to SZTU dormitories, they were still talking about all the fun experiences at High Table Dinner.


Bavarian Night

Bavarian Night was a carnival mixed with tasty food, beverages, soothing music and engaging dance. Winners of the Top Ten Campus Singers made their extraordinary performance, followed by a unique Bavarian performance with all the international students involved.


International Forum

At the International Forum, all the international friends listened to the speeches attentively and jotted down some important notes. At Q&A session, some of them raised their hands to ask questions concerning the development of Bavarian universities of applied sciences and the establishment of SZTU’s overseas office in Regensburg.
