SZTU Delegation Visits Germany and Switzerland

   From June 4th to 8th, the delegation from Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) led by Ms. Zhang Yanhong, Vice President of SZTU, visited 5 applied sciences universities in Germany and Switzerland, which included in a chronological order Trier University of Applied Sciences, Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). The strategic cooperation with three SZTU’s partner universities, namely the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, BFH, and FHNW, has been strengthened, particularly regarding achievement transformation, language training, joint training of talents, and campus construction etc. In addition, new Cooperation Agreement has been signed with Trier University of Applied Sciences and Kempten University of Applied Sciences respectively, which further promotes SZTU’s internationalized development.

   On June 4th, the delegation visited Trier University of Applied Sciences and received warm welcome from Professor Gisela Sparmann, its vice president, Professor Peter Heck, President of the Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS), and Mr. Michael Knaus, Head of the International Department of IfaS. The delegation then visited the protection laboratory and library in Birkenfeld campus. Both sides had a discussion and consequently settled on student exchange, summer camp project and teacher training as the key areas for cooperation in the future.

   The next day, the delegation arrived at the Kempten University of Applied Sciences where they had a meeting with Professor Robert Schmidt and Professor Dirk Jacob, the president and the vice president of the university respectively, and other staff. Also, the delegation paid a visit to the university’s laboratories and library. According to the cooperation agreement signed during the visit, SZTU and Kempten University of Applied Sciences are going to carry out substantial cooperation in areas like discipline establishment, faculty visit, and student exchanges etc.

 

   On June 6th, SZTU delegation stopped at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. The university’s Vice President Professor Uhl, Head of International Office Ms. Ingrid Hahn-Eisenhardt, and its Chinese teacher Mr. Lyu Tianshu met with the delegation. Apart from inspecting and learning from the university’s practical teaching process, the delegation listened to the Ms. Hahn-Eisenhardt’s introduction on the university’s language center and teaching mode. Both sides expressed willingness to see more extensive, in-depth, and effective future cooperation.

   During the delegation’s visit in Switzerland, SZTU delegation learned about the specific requirements of the other two applied sciences universities (BFH and FHNW) on language training and campus construction and visited their libraries, laboratories and other facilities.
