Safety education activity successfully held

SZTU placed campus safety and security in the top priority to ensure the well-being of all students and teachers, and the quality of their education. On June 29, a public education campaign on the theme of "eliminating hidden dangers, building a strong line of defense" was organized by the school to increase safety awareness and improve the safety precautions of teachers and students.

 

Prof. Xu Gang, vice president of SZTU, attended the event and delivered a speech. Security administrators, laboratory security administrators, student representatives, representatives of Mingzhe Group and SZTU Canteen, and all members of the Safety and Security Center participated in this event.

Prof. Xu Gang spoke highly of the campus safety and security of SZTU and emphasized that the open campus environment of SZTU is more challenging for the school management. Thus, the Safety and Security Center should provide security services with higher requirements and strengthen emergency coordination so as to stay well-prepared for the unforeseeable contingencies.

Lu Guoqiang, head of Safety and Security Center, said the campus security will be further refined to eliminate hidden dangers and potential problems. All members of the Safety and Security Center will build a strong line of defense to safeguard the campus.

 

In order to further promote the knowledge of campus safety and emergency, and better illustrate the key messages, display board were set up at the event site, related leaflets and handbooks were distributed to the participants.

In addition, a fire drill was conducted to illustrate the firefighting procedure where the staff from the Safety and Security Center explained the specifications of emergency equipment such as fire protection hoods, fire blankets and fire extinguishers.

The last part was a drill put up by the team from SZTU Hospital to share the knowledge of emergency medical treatment. The staff explained and demonstrated the first aid procedures of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). During the first-aid drill, the doctor provided specific guidance at each step to help the participants to understand and master the key points of the first aid procedures of CPR.

 

Campus security and safety is an important feature of university education. The Safety and Security Center of SZTU is committed to safeguarding the campus and promoting the importance of campus safety and security.
