In the spring semester of 2025, Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) welcomes international students from five countries. The International Cooperation and Student Affairs Department at SZTU has arranged a variety of activities to help them adapt to their new life on the Chinese campus. Students received an informative guide from the International Student Handbook and enjoyed warm welcome during dormitory visits and orientation. These students have embarked on an enriching journey filled with cultural exploration, academic growth, and cross-border friendships.

Beyond academics, students engaged in citywide cultural exchanges. On March 5, four international students from SZTU participated in the opening ceremony of Qianhai Academy of International Communication and the Z10 Club, where they shared their personal experiences about Shenzhen with peers from other universities. The two platforms are set to inject more innovative momentum into the global narrative of Shenzhen, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and China. Thawab Kchaou, an Austrian student at SZTU, expressed her awe at the city, stating, “It’s a very beautiful and interesting place. I’m seeing things I’ve never seen in my life, like self-driving cars and robotic street cleaners. Through social media, I want to share the beauty of Shenzhen and its diversity with the world,” She describes Shenzhen as a city of the future.

Several international students from SZTU participated in a unique excursion on March 19 to explore Pingshan District’s hidden ecological treasures. Joined by the other international students, Chinese and expat vloggers, they explored the district’s surprising natural beauty. Participants visited the Shenzhen Pingshan Changshou Dramaville and Jingui Village, and they had the opportunity to experience Chinese calligraphy. “The journey was a perfect blend of modernity and tradition, offering us a glimpse into the rich culture and natural wonders of the area.” Jim Levin von Strikzky, a German exchange student reflected.
